COMMITTEES

Industry standards are essential to ensuring aftermarket trading partners are able to easily exchange and access data. MIS Council committees are established to develop standards for EDI, XML and other applications. This helps facilitate communications between aftermarket suppliers and customers and helps the supply chain remain competitive against initiatives that encourage competition from outside the industry.

Any active MIS Council member may participate in the committees.

An MIS Council Task Force is developing a tool to help members better manage the various systems and processes needed to meet the various e-commerce formats and technologies required by customers. The matrix will enable manufacturers to identify a minimal range of fields, formats, delivery networks and so forth that will meet the needs of as few or as many customers or prospects as desired. Standards, formats and technologies that are included in the Matrix include:

  • PIES version
  • PIES fields
  • Catalog version
  • Catalog fields

The Customer E-commerce Matrix will be made available to MIS Council manufacturer members only.
